Look Into My Eyes

About the Author

Anand is a sophomore at Columbia University on the pre-med track. Along with being an avid photographer, he is a member of the varsity tennis team. Before having to leave school due to COVID, he was primarily a landscape photographer, but during quarantine, he delved more into the portrait photography world by watching online tutorials and practicing on his friends and others in the Milwaukee area. He hopes to keep developing his skills in this field of art to reach his fullest potential and maybe, one day, be a photographer for Vogue Magazine.

Something he tries to highlight in his work is the enchanting look of the models. Viewers should look into the models' eyes and be drawn into the image in a way that they can be inside the setting and actively appreciate its entirety. He ties that together with the lighting setup to really bring out the features of the face to help draw focus to the eyes. The goal of his work is to bring the viewer out of current reality while still maintaining a sense of realism by not over-editing his work so that they can appreciate the work as a portrayal of the positive parts of reality instead of a separate world altogether.
